YOU AGAIN
I drove to the mountains
looking for peace
but found my father
in myriad forms
Jagged sandstone
cutting my palms
paisley handkerchiefs
the color of night
faint nervous smiles
of someone with
unexpressed sorrow
and desire inside
As I stared at the wall
that first night
your lightening gaze
set forest fires within
a momentary blaze
the dance beckoned
We flew to each other
ecstatic hummingbirds
you loving me, my words
walking me to the cottage
under the super moon
then disappearing
into the cold night air
Was I too much Lilith
for your Adam nature
so you banished me
from your heart
once you realized
we are equals?
